An Outstanding Year for the Children!

Dear
Parent/Carer,
As the CEO of the Trust that
oversees the leadership of your school, I wanted to write to you personally.
Schools are such busy places
that they sometimes forget to pause and reflect on how much they have achieved.
This year has been
exceptional for Woodpecker Hall Academy – for the team, the community and above
all, the children.
Outstanding results
Our pupils achieved
remarkable SATs results this year.
While the national average
for schools was 62%, Woodpecker reached 89%. This is an exceptional outcome and
we expect this to place the school among the top 1–2% of schools nationally.
These outcomes reflect not
only the hard work in Year 6, but the high-quality teaching and learning
happening across all year groups.
Outstanding Early Years
From their very first days
here, our children benefit from strong foundations – Ofsted has described our
Early Years provision as “Outstanding.” Children in Nursery and Reception
thrive.
An incredible year
But numbers tell only part of
the story.
It’s been a year full of
sporting triumphs, inspiring art and drama, and wonderful community moments
like our Summer and Winter Fairs.
Most importantly, there has
been tremendous learning and growth every day.
I’ve seen for myself how
deeply the children love reading – a passion that sits at the heart of life at
Woodpecker Hall.
Whenever I visit, what
strikes me most is how happy and safe the children feel. That matters as much
as any academic result.
Thank you
I’m also grateful for the
strong partnership we share with parents and carers.
Your support shapes the life
of the school and your children’s learning beyond the classroom.
To everyone who volunteers
their time – thank you. It makes a real difference.
Many of our Year 6 children
and families will be staying with us as they go to our excellent secondary
school, Heron Hall Academy.
I’m immensely proud of what
Woodpecker Hall Academy has achieved this year and I look forward to even more
success ahead.
